Collections Trust: A brief introduction to Object Exit

This session is part of an event series run by Collections Trust and Museum Development England.

This session will offer a basic overview of the Spectrum Object exit procedure.

The session will cover:

  • How the procedure relates to Accreditation and policy.

  • The procedure’s definition and scope, explaining key concepts and terms.

  • The Spectrum minimum requirements, with brief examples of how to meet them.

  • Where to find the Spectrum suggested procedure and briefly how it can be used (note: this session will not cover the content of the suggested procedure).

  • Signposting to further information.

By the end of the session, attendees will:  

  • Understand how Object exit relates to Accreditation and policy.

  • Understand how to meet the Spectrum standard for Object exit via the minimum requirements.

  • Know where to find more information and guidance.
