Developing Evaluation Plans for Museum and Heritage Professionals

This comprehensive course is designed for professionals in the museum and heritage sector looking to strengthen their skills in creating effective evaluation plans.

The day begins by exploring essential evaluation terminology, ensuring a clear understanding of quantitative versus qualitative data, distinguishing between outcomes and outputs, and recognising the role of baselines and endpoints. These foundational elements are important for developing evaluations that can support funding applications, engage stakeholders through clear reporting, and contribute to broader organisational growth.

In the afternoon, using a case study, participants will be introduced to, and will begin to construct, a logic model, a valuable tool for mapping out their evaluation plan. Logic models provide a structured framework to articulate intended project goals, streamline data collection efforts, and make it easier to communicate the evaluation plan to stakeholders. By the end of the course, participants will have the confidence to use a logic model to guide their evaluation journey, ensure alignment with key project objectives, and demonstrate measurable impact.

The event will be delivered via Zoom, utilising Breakout Rooms, Chat, Polls and Whiteboard functions. Breaks will be scheduled during the workshop.
