Join us for the third event of the new Midlands Trustee Network
Unless there’s enough capacity in the workforce, Trustees will struggle to make time to focus on their leadership and oversight roles. Many of the region’s museums rely on volunteers and without since the Covid-19 pandemic it’s been increasingly tough for museums to recruit and retain the volunteer capacity they need to operate. This reflects a wider picture across the voluntary sector with surveys suggesting that the majority of organisations are finding volunteer recruitment difficult. In this tough climate, what can museums do to attract and retain the committed, skilled volunteers that they need?
Join us at the third event of the new Midlands Trustee Network. Exclusively for Museum Trustees in the Midlands. With a unique and varied programme designed specifically for trustees, the network gives you the chance to connect with other museum Trustees, get fresh insights, share your experiences and learn from those who may be facing similar challenges and opportunities to you.
By taking part in this session you can:
· Network with museum Trustees from across the Midlands.
· Get valuable volunteer recruitment tips and share your own.
· Be signposted to useful organisations and resources.
· Find out more about how Museum Development Midlands can support you in the continued development of your museum.
The session will be held online via Zoom. So it’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Biscuits).
To make sure it’s interactive and enable you to network and learn with others, there will be a variety of main group and breakout activities. The session will use Zoom interactive tools and Padlet for group work. The Joining Instructions will include links to guidance on how to use these interactive tools. We want the Midlands Trustee Network to be inclusive. If you need a reasonable adjustment for this event, please let us know what you need when completing the booking form and we will contact you about how we can help. Accessibility information for both platforms can be found via
