MDM Terms and Conditions

Museum Development Midlands (MDM) is committed to transparency in how we run our events and what we expect from the museums we support. This page outlines who our events are for, what we ask of participating museums, and how we handle your data.

Eligibility and Prioritisation

Priority for bookings will be given to:

  • Staff and volunteers from Accredited Midlands Museums

  • Staff and volunteers from Midlands museums officially Working Towards Accreditation

  • Sole trader freelancers who are currently working with eligible museums in the Midlands

Please note:
National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs), National Museums, and Midlands-based freelancers not currently working with an eligible Midlands museum are welcome to attend. However, if the event becomes oversubscribed, they may be asked to release their place to accommodate priority attendees.

Booking Process

To confirm your place at an event, you must complete the full booking form, which allows us to confirm your eligibility.

The main booking form questions will appear after you complete the 'checkout' process.

If you do not complete the form, we will follow up by email. However, we reserve the right to cancel your booking if we do not receive a response.

By booking onto an event, you confirm that you have read and agree to follow MDM’s Code of Conduct, which applies to both online and in-person events.

What We Ask of Participating Museums

To benefit from MDM’s support through training, grants, advice, and development programmes, we ask that museums:

  • Provide case studies on request for activity undertaken with MDM support

  • Complete the Annual Museums Survey

  • Complete the Organisational Health Check, if requested

  • Provide feedback to support our evaluation and improvement

  • Give at least 48 hours’ notice if unable to attend a booked event

Accessibility

MDM is committed to making all events welcoming and accessible. Accessibility includes physical, psychological, financial, cultural, and social factors.

Data Protection

Our Data Privacy Statement outlines the data we collect, how it is used, and how it is stored. Please refer to it for full details.

Additional Terms

Some additional terms and conditions may apply to grant awards and intensive support programmes. These will be outlined clearly on the relevant application forms.
